Guided tour of the Kunsthalle with a focus on architecture
Built in 1967, the concrete cube of the Kunsthalle is one of Düsseldorf's most striking buildings, a rare testimony to Brutalist architecture. The building was initially strongly criticised by many artists and Düsseldorfers because of its appearance. In the 1990s, the Kunsthalle was considered for demolition, but the Düsseldorf artists and gallery owners were determined to keep it. So it was renovated and expanded once again. Discover the artworks outside and the architecture of the Kunsthalle during the guided tour.
14.30-16.30
