May 13 – 22, 2022, Kunsthalle Düsseldorf
Pop-up exhibition and book presentation in the foyer of Kunsthalle Düsseldorf: the international artist group darktaxa-project works artistically and theoretically at the interface of photography to the new digital imaging techniques such as photogrammetry, augmented reality, 3D-scanning, machine learning, etc.
noPublication is an experimental print publication by the group: from high-end to low res, from artificial intelligence to digital trash, from post-photographic conditions to technosphere, about screenmemories and faithbook, about the intrinsic self and posthumanism, about undead photography and photogrammetry, about media-reflexive social critique and self-therapy, about Google hacks and digital détournements. 1000 pages, 3.6 kg.
The video installation noAutopole is an experimental digital extension of noPublication. The screens show darktaxa photo and video works that appear in the noPublication, an audio-video version of the darktaxa-noManifesto, glitched videos of the noPublication pages, the darktaxa camera DTC-1 (low-tech self construction), as well as a photogrammetrically generated, Google Earth sourced, camera ride over Kunsthalle Düsseldorf.
noQR-Code is a virtual extension of Kunsthalle Düsseldorf. Using photogrammetric techniques applied in Google Earth, a virtual 3D model of the Kunsthalle was created, which can be entered with a smartphone via the noQR-Code. Texts from the noPublication can be heard recited by computer-generated voices.
