The designer, illustrator and textile artist Serena Bossio tufts a carpet during her performance in the foyer of the Kunsthalle. Tufting is a method of creating textile surfaces by shooting wool through a fabric stretched on a wooden frame with a special machine (“tufting gun”).
Bossio has been working with the tufting technique since 2020 and positions herself in the feminist activist field. Among other things, she tufts rugs with feminist motifs and participates in social media campaigns for Feminist Struggle Day. She is also an activist for FrauenLebenFreiheit Cologne.
In keeping with the exhibition, a carpet is being created on the theme of the interconnectedness of all lives.
