The exhibition New Design from Düsseldorf shows from October 13 – 15, 2023 in the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf more than 40 artistic-design works from the studies New Craft Object Design, Communication Design, Retail Design and Exhibition Design of the Department of Design of the Peter Behrens School of Arts of the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf.
The projects, selected from 200 final theses, are far more than an academic assignment, but independent approaches and positions of young designers with a sense of their own and a sense of community, which are both retro and avant-garde, create fluid transitions between analog and digital media, and at the same time illustrate the variety and diversity that makes the Department of Design so unique. They are New Design from Düsseldorf.
To kick things off, the exhibition will be formally opened on Friday evening, October 13, starting at 6 pm. On Saturday, an external jury will award the HSD PBSA Design Award for the first time among the exhibiting graduates.
