Moritz Krauth is standing with the parents and performers Marina and Dieter Krauth in front of red drawings and is reading on a black sofa.
Moritz Krauth (b. 1990, Hamburg, Germany) lives between Düsseldorf & Paris and holds an MFA from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. They graduated in the classes of Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Keren Cytter & Christopher Williams in 2019. Their artistic practice combines video, performance & photography & frequently uses literature, that in various ways deals with the notion of the core family, in order to create social experiments, which are then visually translated into different outlets. The artworks oscillate between fiction, documentation & historical facts. Looking at procedures of intimate, domestic situations, as well as the public presentation of one's persona, they extend & complicate the reading of society, individualism, & the creation of conventions.
Recently, they were shown at K21 Museum, Kunstsammlung NRW, Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, Kunstverein Harburger Bahnhof, Raiosha Gallery, Tokyo and Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris. They are featured in the current edition of Catalogue Magazine, London, & designed a banner for Serpentine Gallery, London.
I could be that old man from the gas station

In this live performance he will play a solo concert of soon to be released musical pieces, that touch ground with techno, drone and noise music alike.
