Workshop on the topic of artist’s books

Saturday, February 1st, 2025, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., in the Mergemeier bookbinding company

In this workshop, participants have the opportunity to work together, under professional guidance, to implement a new, small book project. New ideas for a book project will be prioritized.
Starting with a short, inspiring visit to the current exhibition in the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, the group will create their own work in the studio with artist Manuel Boden and prepare individual content for the second date.
The second day of the workshop will take place in the Mergemeier bookbinding company. Here, the prepared sheets will be bound into a book using Japanese stitching. Finally, a title is embossed onto the cover using hand-set type. At the end, all participants hold a work of their own design in their hands.
The participants are invited to bring a selection of their own photos, pictures, drawings and (handwritten) texts in analogue form (not digital) and for further processing (max. A4).
