Free admission and programme all day
in German language
What makes a city liveable and who is it for? Taking Düsseldorf’s Grabbeplatz as our starting point, we will discuss how urban spaces can be designed in an ecologically and socially equitable manner at Kunsthalle Düsseldorf’s theme day.
The programme combines ecological practice with socio-political issues: in the talk ‘Green Utopias’, experts will discuss sustainability in cities, architecture and urban planning, and perspectives for green visions of the future. In the afternoon, the panel ‘Who owns the city?’ will focus on the idea of the commons – an understanding of housing and culture as communal resources beyond purely market-based interests.
Anouchka Strunden, who researches gender, class and mental health in urban spaces and deals with (in)visibility and green infrastructure as an urban resource, will moderate the event.
