The project “Der Malkasten und sein Park als Ort der Kunst” (The Malkasten and its park as a place of art) is a collaboration between the artists’ association Malkasten and Kunsthalle Düsseldorf as part of the interim programme that the Kunsthalle is implementing during its three-year renovation. The park, laid out in the centre of Düsseldorf in the mid-18th century, forms the starting point for the project. Temporary and permanent sculptures and site-specific performances and actions enliven the park in a variety of ways and open it up as a space for contemporary art, urban biodiversity and different forms of encounter.
