Family Weekend: Discover the Planet Kunsthalle
–

On Friday, February 27, 2026, from 5 to 10 pm, the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf invites you to a children’s museum night.
On Saturday, February 28, and Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 11 am to 6 pm each day, the adventure continues with a family weekend.
On all three days, two special rooms will be open to children, families, and curious visitors of all ages: the Side Light Hall and the Cinema Hall.
Painting together in the Seitenlichtsaal
In the Side Light Hall, children can work together on a long painting board to create a huge picture. All the works will be hung on the walls one by one, so that over the course of the days, the room will continue to grow into a colorful, collective landscape of images.
An extraterrestrial planet in the Kinosaal
The cinema hall will feature a walk-in installation by artist Sofía Magdits Espinoza.
The Kunsthalle will become an extraterrestrial planet made of roots, mycelium, and water.
Children and adults help to design the space: they weave textile roots, connect them with threads, and create a growing network. Each new connection makes the planet bigger. Underground water flows through the space on the floor. Light, sound, and textiles create a special atmosphere.
We look forward to a galactic weekend at the Kunsthalle!
