Kunsthalle unterwegs: Sofía Magdits Espinoza. El Kiosko de los Cariñitos

As part of the Kunsthalle unterwegs project series, the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf will be a guest at Düsseldorf’s Büdchentag in September 2026 with the Kiosko de los Cariñitos (Kiosk of Cuddles) by artist Sofía Magdits Espinoza.

Together, we will create a transcultural space around this spacious, welcoming, and colorful kiosk—a space filled with art, warmth, music, food, and conversation.

How do you take up space in public?
Banner workshop with Maria Renee Morales Garcia

What is something you want everyone to know? What do you want to say to everyone? And how do your words resonate in public space?
Together, we will take inspiration from different slogans from queer, feminist and climate protest movements around the world to develop our own. Choose something that matters to you and is close to your heart, and turn your message into your own banner.
Using fabric scraps and second-hand textiles, we will create a collaborative collage. With fabric paint, you can make your own message visible and create your very own textile banner.

Children up to and including the age of nine can take part when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No prior experience is required.
