Parkhaus Kunsthalle Düsseldorf, 2015
Photo: Gregor Herse
The multistorey car park beneath the Kunsthalle is a place where office workers, operagoers, museum visitors, Kom(m)ödchen audiences, old town browsers and tourists cross paths. Now, Marlin de Haan is using this urban space as a stage for her performance art. She will be exploring the anti-structure in familiar, established systems and positioning herself and her work within this quotidian setting. In four distinct performative episodes – IN, OUT, UP and DOWN – she will interact with daily life in the car park, thus sounding out the artistic potential of this central location.
Marlin de Haan is a freelance director and artist. She studied sculpture with Rosemarie Trockel and regularly performs at FFT Düsseldorf.
