Opening: August 8, 2024, 6 pm, in the parking garage of the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf.

In her artistic work, Eunbi Oh deals with the relationship between inequality and disorder, as well as their significance and impact in contemporary social discourses. As part of MUR BRUT, she will present the installation Schaum im Nebel, which addresses the prevailing, omnipresent flood of information today and, associated with it, society’s dependency on digital media: Viral videos, global news, advertising, and memes are accessible at any time and impact us unfiltered. The artist makes visible the space these occupy in our mobile devices.

The resulting spatial situation initially appears familiar, but inconsistencies become clear upon closer inspection. Eunbi Oh metaphorically contrasts order and chaos and, with Schaum im Nebel, questions our relationship to reality and truth.

Eunbi Oh completed her degree at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Professor Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster in 2023.

Invited by Juliane Hoffmanns
