MUR BRUT 39
Emmélie Lempert. Enter and Dissolve

Emmélie Lempert, 2026

Opening: June 18, 2026, 6 pm

Along the raw wall unfolds a sequence of metallic frames that hover between drawing, object and spatial construction, generating a fragile, almost skin-like visual logic.
The point of departure is the human body as both a socially shaped and continuously transformable surface. Clothing appears here as a carrier of traces: movement, pressure, friction and transformation become inscribed into textile materials, rendering them readable as a kind of memory of the body. The works engage with notions of gender, beauty and identity, as well as with the social images and norms that act upon the body, particularly bodies read as female.
Transparent glass surfaces enclosing textile materials create an ambivalence between presence and withdrawal. Corporeality appears fragmented, while identity emerges as an unstable process. The title Enter and Dissolve refers to this tension: to entering bodily and material states (enter), while simultaneously pointing to the continuous dissolution of forms and boundaries between body, clothing and space (dissolve).
At the same time, Lempert’s works open up transitional spaces between human, animal and fantastical forms, in which transformation appears not as a fixed state, but as an ongoing process that continually renegotiates bodies, gender roles and perception.
