Before the upcoming renovation of Kunsthalle Düsseldorf in 2026, we would like to invite everyone interested to engage in conversations about future cultural buildings and their opportunities and challenges with the program Tschüss – Hallo. On the Way to the Kunsthalle of the Future. Our event series combines talks, workshops, and artistic interventions, inviting participants to discuss the future of Kunsthalle Düsseldorf.
The opening event featured a talk on the topic “Cultural Buildings of the Future” with Miriam Koch (Councillor for Culture and Integration of the City of Düsseldorf), Gabriele Horndasch (artist and former artists’ representative on the supervisory board of Kunsthalle Düsseldorf gGmbH), Kaspar Stöbe (architect), and Alicia Holthausen (Acting Artistic Director of Kunsthalle Düsseldorf).

Saturday, May 17, 2025, 11 am – 6 pm_
The Rapid Publisher. Copyshop Kunsthalle – Copy-Art-Performance with Artist Talk.
Equipped with a photocopier, paper, paste and an archive photo of the Düsseldorf Kunsthalle from 1881, The Rapid Publishers create a large-format mural over the course of a seven-hour performance. The Rapid Publishers create their own history of the Kunsthalle. Between nostalgia and vision – with the means of true copy & paste. Artist Talk at 1 pm.
