In his works, Julius Brauckmann takes up everyday situations and familiar imagery, which he comments on and humorously parodies.
The artist has developed a site-specific work for MUR BRUT. The large-scale mural with the inscription “C3 Picasso” inevitably recalls an advertisement that could easily fit into the surroundings. The logo for the Citroën car, which was developed based on Picasso’s signature, raises questions about the marketing of cars and “artificially” created references to the art world. The artist questions the advertising industry and its promises.
Julius Brauckmann studied under Johannes Wohnseifer, among others, at the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln.
