Stefan Marx (*1979 in Schwalmstadt) draws and illustrates. He studied typography, communication theory and cultural philosophy at the HAW Hamburg.
His excellent observational skills for his everyday environment can be seen in his intelligent and often witty drawings and designs on skateboards, T-shirts, but also on canvases, porcelain and building facades. In his textual works he engages the viewer with concise and humorous quotations or sayings in a strong visual language and unusual writing style.
At Kunsthalle Düsseldorf Marx shows a textual work especially designed for the foyer wall and will thus be the second artist in the new series IM FOYER, which started with “Klasse A. R. Penck. BLUE IS HOT AND RED IS COLD” in October 2019.
Opening with t-shirt release and music on 5/9/2020, 4 to 9 pm.
