For ten years, the BEST Art Prize has been awarded to artists at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. The prize enables talented young artists to develop their artistic practice without economic pressures for one year. This support for artists at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf has proven to be a valuable grant program.
For the first time, the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf is bringing together the winners ranging from 2010 to 2020 in a group exhibition to mark the tenth anniversary of the BEST Art Prize. The grant recipients include numerous artists who have made a name for themselves as rising stars in the art world after their graduation. Recent years have also included promising young artists who are currently studying at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Thus, the exhibition spans a wide variety of positions, which enter into a surprising dialogue due to their aesthetic differences.
The exhibition is curated by Raphael Nocken in cooperation with Gregor Jansen.
